Corporate Information

GrimmerSchmidt was founded in 1969, when John Grimmer and Bob Schmidt brought their innovative MonoBlock air compressor to market as a patented product. The new compressor was lightweight, compact and portable offering performance and serviceability advantages over conventional rotary air designs.

After a decade of developing a full line of portable gasoline powered MonoBlock air compressors, GrimmerSchmidt added diesel rotary engines to its product line. The revolutionary monoscrew air end, along with scroll technology, introduced GrimmerSchmidt to the industrial market in the 1980's.

GrimmerSchmidt air compressors are built at our 50,000 square foot facility in Franklin, Indiana, in the heart of the Midwest, allowing economical shipping across the country and places us near to important suppliers of engines, steel and other major components.

GrimmerSchmidt, family owned and run, continues with the innovative approach to engineering that founded our business. Our compressors are cleanly designed to be simple, reliable, user friendly and serviceable. We build quality compressors because our reputation depends on it.
